REPORT A POTHOLE NOW

The Street Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, repair, and drainage of all city streets and sidewalks. The department works year-round to ensure Cullman’s transportation network remains safe, functional, and well-maintained for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fabricating, installing, and maintaining street signs and signage for municipal facilities.
  • Managing and implementing drainage projects to improve stormwater flow and reduce flooding risks.
  • Performing concrete work and construction projects throughout the city.
  • Applying pavement markings and striping on city streets to enhance visibility and traffic safety.
  • Transporting and operating heavy equipment in support of municipal construction and maintenance efforts.
  • Constructing, repairing, and improving streets and sidewalks, including associated signage and infrastructure.

Damaged pavement, sidewalk hazards, missing or damaged signs, and drainage issues can create unsafe conditions. Citizens and visitors are encouraged to report concerns promptly so the Street Department can address them quickly and maintain the integrity and safety of Cullman’s public infrastructure.

REPORT OTHER ISSUES:

PLEASE NOTE that state-controlled highways within the Cullman city limits are maintained and repaired by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). These include U.S. Highway 31, U.S. Highway 278, Alabama Highway 69/Cherokee Avenue, and Alabama Highway 157.
