WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the Water Treatment Plant Maintence personnel will work on equipment in outside conditions. The Water Treatment Plant Maintenance personnel must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally it may be necessary to visit customers, training, or off-site meetings. Travel, in varying weather conditions, by personal or company vehicles may be necessary.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES

Safety: Work in a safe manner at all times being aware of potential hazards in the area and safeguarding against those hazards

Perform preventative maintenance to ensure compliance codes are properly met.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all plant equipment.

Read and understand SCADA system and system alarms.

Take and record instrument readings.

Report to supervisor any irregularities with instruments or their readings.

Collect samples and perform routine laboratory analysis.

Maintain facility through general clean up and wash-down.

General knowledge of policies and procedures.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED. A grade II-IV Certification of Water Treatment is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one year of experience with electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS

The Water Treatment Maintenance personnel must be able to install, inspect, repair, and maintain the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or all other related systems at the Plant.

The Water Treatment Plant Maintenance personnel must possess strong organizational skills that reflect his/her ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.

The Water Treatment Plant Maintenance personnel will be in a dynamic position which requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions quickly and with a high level of professionalism.

The Water Treatment Plant Maintenance personnel will be a highly resourceful team-player who is self-motivated and actively seeks opportunities.

RESIDENCY

Must maintain a reasonable distance from the location where he or she would be expected to report when needed, per job requirements, in order to produce reasonable response times when job related situations arise.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Shall have a valid Alabama Driver’s License.

Must be able to be insured for automobile insurance.

Shall have an operating residential or cellular phone.

Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, walk up to 5 miles per day, and repeatedly stoop, kneel, crouch, and stand.

Ability to work five 8-hour days Monday through Friday.

Must be able to work overtime and be available for on-call rotation.

Employment Type
Full-time

Starting pay will be up to $19.00/hourly - plus benefits - and will be determined by experience.
