ENLARGE PROJECT AREA MAP

Beginning March 15, 2021, the City’s contractor, Pipeworks Plus, Inc., and their subcontractors will be cleaning and providing video inspection of the sanitary sewer collection system in the southeast area of Cullman in preparation for sewer rehabilitation. This work should not disrupt sewer service. However, it will involve access to utility easements crossing private property. The Contractor’s representatives will attempt to notify property owners prior to easement access.

During cleaning operations, excess air pressure or vacuum will dissipate through service connection plumbing. If plumbing vents are inadequate, Customers may notice splashing of water from fixtures. In the event of vacuum pressure, water in fixture traps may be drawn out resulting in unpleasant odors. To guard against these issues, ensure toilet lids are closed. Run water into each drain to refill fixture traps if odors are noticed.

Following cleaning and inspection operations, items of work associated with sewer rehabilitation will commence. This includes open-cut excavations and subsurface improvements. The work will result in temporary road closures and excavations within the existing roadways, easements and public right-of-ways. Any pavement damaged during construction shall be repaired or replaced. All existing surfaces, structures, landscaping, curb and gutter, etc. shall be returned to their preconstruction conditions by the Contractor.

In the event that access onto private property for completion of work is required, the Contractor and their subcontractors shall request authorization from the Property Owner.
